This method involves cultivating plants in a nutrient-rich gel or agar medium, allowing for a controlled and disease-free growth environment.

Obtaining Marsilea hirsuta in vitro culture offers several advantages for aquarium enthusiasts. Here are some key points to consider:

  1. Sterility: In vitro plants are free from pests, diseases, and unwanted organisms commonly found in traditional potted plants. This ensures a healthier and more robust start for your Marsilea hirsuta in the aquarium.

  2. Rapid Growth: Tissue-cultured plants have a higher growth rate compared to traditional plants, allowing you to establish a lush carpet or dense vegetation in a shorter period. This can be particularly advantageous when creating an aquascape or covering a larger area.

  3. Easy Adaptation: Marsilea hirsuta from vitro culture is accustomed to being grown in a controlled environment, making it more adaptable to changes in water conditions and lighting when transitioning into your aquarium.

  4. Clean and Snail-Free: In vitro plants are typically free of snails or other unwanted hitchhikers, reducing the risk of introducing them into your aquarium ecosystem.

When incorporating Marsilea hirsuta from vitro culture into your aquarium, it's important to acclimate the plants to their new environment gradually. Provide suitable lighting, nutrient-rich substrate, and stable water parameters to support their growth and ensure successful integration into your aquascape.

wonderful little plant

I bought this because I loved the looks and texture of the plant. I knew it was aquatic but have seen it in terrariums planted out of water in soil.
I figured it would need time to adjust and get wilted etc, but it started to spread out right away.

Im thinking of getting more but really if it grows this fast I dont know where to put it.

Thank you for an amazing little plant

Fantastic

Really full TC Cup full of healthy plants. Bought two and could have gotten by with one because of how much there was!

I had no experience with tissue culture before

The cup arrived quickly and it looks reasonably healthy. I wasn't familiar with tissue culture as I normally either got pots or bare roots. I was able to get the media gel off rather easily. What was tough was separating the plants. Once I did I found I had much more than I actually needed, since it was going into an established tank that had many plants already. I really like this even though it took a bit of time planting individual groups. I am very happy with how it looks. And definitely if I were starting from scratch, this would be my front carpet choice.

Betta Bliss

There were a few brown leaves when it arrived, but it's looking good now. I planted as one long "hedge." Best of all, my betta loves it! He literally rolls around in it!
